Yes, I Did This
I have to give a big sigh here for my thoughtless clutziness. When one has lots of tiny implements that go along with the knitting process one really should take more care when moving plastic drawers on wheels. One should not be in such a hurry that one does not remove the lidless containers sitting on top of the drawers on wheels. ESPECIALLY when said drawers are to be put back into the closet! Here is what happened when I did the above:
Umm, ok, my Fotki account has expired so no pictures until I decide what I want to do. I think I would like to use Gallery but I just don't have the energy to go through the installation/learning process right now. Read on to find out what my clutzy carelessness caused...
Yes, I dropped a container filled with many small DPNs. I suppose I was lucky only one of them ended up in the closet door track. After panicing for about 30 seconds, followed by disgust for myself, I had a brainstorm: tweasers! Yes, marvelous inventions, tweasers are. Good for plucking out gray hairs and DPN-from-closet-door-track removal. After fumbling around for a bit I managed to get a decent grip on the DPN and out it came. I was quite proud of myself. My dear friend Sally would be quite proud of me, as well (Sally is very resourceful and practical).
So, that is the saga of the DPN. Perhaps next time I have to move stuff on wheels I will remember this...but perhaps not.
Project Updates:
Jen's socks: I had to rip back quite a bit on the second sock because I FORGOT TO TURN THE HEEL! But I have now turned the heel, completed the necessary decreases and am now just knitting around and around for the foot.
As for other projects, ummm, haven't touched 'em. I have been obsessing over this second sock. Why does it seem like the second try is harder than the first one for me? Perhaps too much confidence.
