SOCKS!
I DID IT! I DID IT! I finished my first ever pair of socks! I was pleased with myself. It only took me 11 weeks to finish both socks. I was a bit disappointed with the reception the second sock received from its new owner, however. A casual, "Oh, thanks," was all. Well, ok, whatever. I guess I did make her wait a long time for the second sock. The first one seemed to go much faster.
Actually, I have been noticing that about myself when making things in pairs. The first one always seems to be more successful than the second. I think perhaps I get too confident and pay less attention to pattern. Must curb this. I have a second mitten to make for myself, after all. A mitten knit on size 2 needles!
My next project is going to be one of the linen towels from Mason-Dixon Knitting. And I need to get started on my cousin's mittens. The mittens should knit up quickly.
