Mittens
I made a mitten this weekend. Which I will be frogging soon. I thought I had found a nice easy pattern for mittens but it is all screwy. I know I followed the pattern. I made no mistakes. And yet I ended up with a ribbed wrist that ended at the base of my thumb instead of at the wrist. Since I don't think my cousin, the recipient of this mitten, has a thumb growing directly out of her wrist I am going to have to frog. But since that is unpleasant I have elected to start the second mitten from scratch. I stopped the ribbing sooner and added some stockinette in order to get a proportional fit. It is going quite well. I am pleased with this mitten.
I am also working on the Moss Grid hand towel from Mason-Dixon knitting. I have completed about 3 inches. It is not a pattern that I can just be automatic with. I have to pay attention. I am making this in a lovely purple and so far it is going nicely.
I also bought some orange and yellow cotton in order to make dishclothes for the grandma. These will be for Christmas. She still prefers them to sponges so I think this gift will go over well. And the colors are nice and sunny.
